Science and naturalist illustrations

Hi, I'm Lise Viollat, also known as Uni on the internet. I'm a researcher, currently a PhD student, specialising in the ecology, demography and movement of long-lived birds of prey.Outside of research, I'm also an illustrator who does a lot of naturalistic and scientific drawing. I use digital techniques and traditional media (ink, watercolour, pencil).I mostly draw birds, sharks, fish, and other marine creatures, as well as a bit of palaeontology.

DEEP SEA FISH PROJECT

A series of 21 representing deep sea fish as posters inspired by Japanese graphism. The idea was to propose a fun way to show some of the incredible species of deep-sea fish diversity

THE EEL PROJECT

The eel project is one of my current drawing projects: I tried to draw as many species of Anguiliforms species as I could. The main aim of this project is to share knowledge about these unknown species to help the general public to better know them. Perhaps this will be the subject of a book at a later date.
